iPod Question
My dad just ordered me an iPod for my birthday (sept 14, not today). Its a 20 gig iPod and he bought a dock and a 30 dollar gift certificate for iTunes. My friend has an iPod and he just rips cd's with iTunes and puts them on his iPod. I have plenty of cd's ripped on my computer with Windows Media Player and they are .wma files.
Here's my question: Will I have to re-rip my cd's with iTunes or can I just import my .wma files onto iTunes, convert them somehow, and put them on my iPod? |
Not sure about wma files.
My guess is that you can. |

i was comparing the iPod to the iRiver, but my dad said it would probably be better to go with apple, since they are dependable. |

1) Battery life kicks ass! I can go days without recharging (14 hours of play time) 2) Cheaper per gig! I didnt pay for the apple name 3) Has more features than an iPod 4) Their customer service is great. I dropped my first one from like 10 feet down a flight of stairs. It still played but it wouldnt add new songs anymore. Called iRiver up and got a free replacement no questions asked :) I'm sure I would have been happy with an iPod too but this unit far exceeded my exceptations. |
well, the iRiver is 30 bucks more expensive, doesnt matter to me, but they are close in price. The batteries of an ipod last 12 hours, when are you actually going to listen to 12 hours of music straight? iRiver has a built in voice recorder and a remote control, big woop. i will never use a voice recorder and i could care less about a remote. plus i like this whole iTunes thing and all the cool accessories you can get for the iPod. iPod looks cooler too.

The iPod batteries DO NOT last 12 hours. That is BS independant tests have gotten MUCH worse results. iPod batteries are also the crappy type which degrade over time. The only advantage of that type of battery is that is it small. So you have a super small unit, but the battery sucks ass. And you cant just replace it either... stupid: |
