Heh, VALVe disabled a bunch of accounts that used dodgy credit card numbers and (probably) CD keys, as detailed over on [url=http://www.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=121263&perpage=15&pagen umber=1:11f59]this[/url:11f59] thread on the Steampowered forums. This was the post that caught my eye, made by Taylor Sherman, a VALVe employee, in reply to a homomonkey called "Paulianer".

7 attempts to use stolen or fake cd-keys
11 attempts to use an invalid credit-card number to purchase CZ

All from the Steam account w/ the same name as the email address you used to sign up on the forums with. All from the computer you are using to post on the forums with.

valve is a gaming company, they made half-life and own several of the mods for it. They also created steam. A (supposedly) easy to use application that accesses all of the valve made games, you can also buy games off of it. Steam can also track things you do (like trying to steal CD-keys for valve made games). oOo:

thank you... that is fucked up, i hear about 'steam' all the time, is it only for those games?...

yes. and i hate it. Its needlessly unreliable and the "friends" network is a shitty alternative to Xfire.
