Tip: When using patterns (scanlines, squares etc.) ]you usually dont want to leave them 100% opacity. Square would look decent if they

A. Didnt cover the dude with the gun
B. lowered the opacity of the squares to around 60%.

Take out the text, put a 2-4 PX white border around it, and maybe dodge the dude with the gun a tad.

That way it has a strong focal point, with a decent, well blended background.

Also, make the squares a tad more grey.

DO not follow those wich are popular, and you will one that becomes popular.
