Of course silly.

If so, Burgen, could you organise some Australian SS recreators to come to Kyneton Secondary College, Charge across the oval towards the school, Guns blazing, grenades getting thrown etc. Maybe even organise some Panthers and Tigers to roll around the place...Burst into classrooms, start bayonetting teachers etc. Then take all the kids outside to learn about weapons (and fire some) and WW2 in general. That would really brighten up my day http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif

for the right price !

Of course we educate people! We (the whole club) host a 'Living history day' at the local US National Guard Base, this year there were a bunch of kids that were there to take notes from us for some school project. The public now knows and respects us!

Unfortunatly I don't know any of the Aussie reenactors so I think you better hit them up yourself for your plan... http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif

Plus, If we didn't have public battles (they 'educate people') then we wouldn't get so much support. And any way, the people love us. You could say that we are celebrities in our own twisted minds.

So can people walk around you and take photos as you're shooting blanks at each other ?

Macchi 07-26-2001 09:16 AM

Its great that people act out the battles....

Well more than half of our events (Battles) are 'public' which means that the public is allowed to view our camps (or barracks depending on location) and our battles. It is like a BIG hands-on moving Museum

If they're in your base is it "interactive", so you go up and say "Ihre Papiere, Bitte sp"
That'd be cool http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif

Bürgen 07-27-2001 12:14 AM

We usually (unless we are cleaning stuff or something) will allow the public to have a 'hands-on experience' with everything. If you came and wanted to hold the MG42, we would let you! We probibly wouldn't let you fire it but you will get a complete rundown on how you would if you wanted to. Same goes for just about everything. It isn't like a sterile art museum or something, we want people to see what thier fathers and grandfathers did in WWII and Viet-nam, and you cant really do that with a 'NO TOUCHING' policy, just ask first, or you won't see your family again... http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif

Von Paulus 07-27-2001 12:26 AM

Oh well, I dont like my family anyway http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif I wanna run away and join a ragged, rough band of WW2 Historical Recreationists http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif If it isn't a paying job, what do you do ? Cause that gear is expensive...

Bürgen 07-27-2001 12:30 AM

Actually right now I am unemployed, but that will change this next week, I hope. But when you are motivated you can save up money, the day after my first event I dropped $500 on my uniform that I had been saving just for that.
