The 676 Broad St. Bullies vs. The world

i swore i wasn't going to do this but i figured you derelict bums would get a good kick out of this one image from the VIP room i finished a couple days ago for the philly based map i'm trudging through (it's dark for a pg-13 reason kiddies). i'm having a blast but noticed something as i'm trolling around the mohaa modding forums.........seems like a lot of modders/modlers/mappers and texture guys are crying the death of mohaa modding yet again. i've noticed this before when i first started skinning . is this a yearly thing like the migration of the monarch butterfly or something ? i haven't been online playing mohaa in months but before i left it still seemed strong. seems like this was the agenda (is mohaa dead) back when CN first came out; that there would be no 'audience' for that mod because interest in mohaa was gone. i'm no quaterback or a football coach so you won't hear any "let's pull together' speech but shit, i'm having a blast doing this map and i'm going to keep pushing them out irregardless if there's an crowd waiting to download it or not. i started mapping with the idea that yeah, it would be cool to be known as a mapper also but now, shit again; it's all for me having a good time. in closing............what's concidered too big of a map to DL ? meaning what size in MBs would make you stop and say 'yea i have cable/dsl but this map is like 'X' MBs, i dunno if it's worth my download time' ? and no, there won't be a flyable chopper or halo style skins in this map lol (though i might have a spotlight moving around on a splinepath to give the impression of a police chopper on patrol; wonder if i could give it a little AI and have it shoot down if it strays close to a player ?) see you guys on the streets. |
me like! me like alot! biggrin:

1. yep the taxi is for this map (need some cover on the steets and highway from sniper and mg nests) and i have someone else working on a SEPTA bus and i'm stil debating the semi cab, will need a patrol car (can you just throw a cherry bar on top of a copy of the taxi model and it'll be a patrol car ?
2. yep brockton's like a small suburb of bahstun; have/had family there. good lower class kinda neighborhood, the kind i grew up in . 3. yep i'm cute, damn cute. 4. yep, i may follow this map up with The 676 Broad St. Bullies vs. AC (atlantic city) a boardwalk map 5. yep, with most of the textures i made just for this map, i'm allready around 11MB but that should taper off now that i'm nearly done the street level and moving onto the scrapers. |
