Need help from a computer god
I installed my 200gig harddrive but it is only showing up as 127gig.
I have Windows XP home, with SP1 and SP2 installed, pretty much everything is uptodate since I am now using it as my master drive, with my OS on it. I need steps on how to get my computer to read the 200gig's thanks |
your os takes up space..
theres the end of my knowledge |

It may be that your motherboard BIOS needs to be flashed. |
might have to partition it, and i would no nothing about that
|
you usually lose some space for example my 40 gig hdd shows up at 38.2gig, but you shouldnt be losing that much space.

aquire partition magic
good luck |
you need to go get a card that you install on your motherboard. there is something about older pcs that makes them not recognize more then 127gb of space. but dammit, for the life of me i cannot remember what they are called. anyone know?

It's just a problem that WinXP has. I think those links Bleuachdu posted covers it.
