Need some help -- cell phone service
 

I'm getting deployed to Okinawa, Japan and I need a cell phone service that will let me call internationally back to the states and on the great island of Okinawa for a lowtime fee of like $50/month or so.. nothing really expensive..just a set amount a month like anyother plan.

you need one of those world phones and a super plan on it to work anywhere.

If your over there for a while, you can go to a local cell phone store and go under their plan, and just call home on that.

I was in school with an exchange student from hong kong and he brought his cell phone here, and went to the store and got them to activate it on a canadian plan, and it worked fine for him.

phones and stuff in japan are really really cheap. not sure about the plans. get some good stuff while your there. rock:

get a calling card first, i dont think they have phones where you get a lasting deal on extended international trips. if there is, you would prolly have to get it in Japan. dont spend too much time on the phone, Japan is the best place to be deployed if you are in the service, take your time there and enjoy it. you can really have the time of your life there bud, i know i did.
