unless it is embedded in to something[/quote:3bd3e] I think the whole world knows how to "right click and save" so obviously that doesn't work. There must be a way to save that. tomxtr may be onto something. |
im not sure if this will work, but try DLing a Download manager and use that. when u save something with it. u can pick anything off the page you want saved.
|
I was thinking using view source to get the name of the .swf and then search for it in Temporary Internet Files but that didn't work, seeing as how i can't find the fucking folder of temporary files.

Yes the swf should be in your cache

ok heres a trick that will work without a download manager and with IE:
1. Go to the site with the swf file you want saved. 2. Click View>Source 3. Click Edit>Find 4. In the Find box, type ".swf" 5. Highlight the path of the .swf file. It should be something like /home/flash/funny.swf 6. Paste the path of the flash onto the end of the URL, this may be a tricky part, as it will depend on how the site is coded and where the flash file is hosted. 7. Take your new URL and paste it into IE. Make sure you can see the flash. 8. Open up a new IE window. Go to GF1.com forums. 9. Start a new thread or reply to a thread. 10. Paste the flash URL into the post box. Make sure it has URL tags around it. 11. Click on "preview" rather than submit. 12. The post preview should come up. 13. Right click on the URL and click save target as. 14. Choose your name and file path and save away. 15. Don't be an idiot and accidently post the link. |
I did the hard part. Just right click and save target as:
[url:24165]http://media.ebaumsworld.com/fckshtpss.swf[/url:24165] |
I screwed around with it a little because I'm at work and what else what I do. I got it to work. Anyway, click on the link. View the source and save it as an .html doc. Then do a find for the .swf file in the source file that you just saved. Next copy the location of the .swf (in this case http://media.ebaumsworld.com/fckshtpss.swf ) into your browser. Next, choose to view the source again and save the .swf (in this case fckshtpss.swf). So, now I have the html doc and the .swf file in the same folder somewhere on my machine. Now, all you have to do is open the html doc with notepad, change all references from http://media.ebaumsworld.com/fckshtpss.swf to C:\Documents and Settings\myname\junk\fckshtpss.swf. Done. Note, that all the links and shit are still directed to the website, but the .swf is played from your local machine.
