Sikorsky no longer making the presidential helicopter
[quote:adbee]About two thirds of the Lockheed Martin helicopter would be built in the United States, and a third in Britain and Italy, the officials said.[/quote:adbee]
with all this terrorist stuff going on, dont you think it would be best to build all of the helicopters in the United States? especially if its for the president [quote:adbee]"Sikorsky and our All-American supplier team are disappointed with this outcome," said Stephen Finger, the company's president. "We're honored to have flown US presidents for nearly half a century and believe we put forward an exceptionally strong proposal to continue this tradition."[/quote:adbee] why change teams if things are going allright as they are, plus they have been making the helicopters for the presidents for half a century. To destroy the middle class of America, all manufacturing must be moved off shore. This is what the Bush family is about.

I personally feel all American military equipment should be made in the USA. I just don't like the idea of the "other guys" making our stuff. Though I doubt Bush is doing this to destroy the American middle class family. oOo:

Agreed. All military-equipment should be produced in the United States. One of you might know this, but does equipment made outside of the United States first get shipped here [for inventory-type procedures], or does it get shipped straight to the "front" [any "front" there might be]? oOo: My point about that question is: If there is a war, or battles to be fought [most likely not to be in the Americas], then the equipment is to be shipped to the war faster, right? |
thats just wrong. There talking on average(with research, developement, production, etc.) about roughly $260,800,000 per helicopter. I think someone royally screwed this up. And if Sikorsky looses the airforce contract then they will have to rely solely on their private buiusness, leisure industry sales. Way to totally screw over a company.

He needs a fleet of 23 helicopters?! oOo:
