did they have any special forces over in vietnam during the war ?
|
Canada did not send troops to Vietnam. However many Canadians enlisted in US Army units to go to Vietnam. I think the estimate is over 30,000 Canadians went to Vietnam.

[quote:a9b07]Many Americans believe that Canada played no part in the Vietnam War. Nothing could be further from the truth. Though the Canadian government tried its best to remain neutral, Canadians themselves became involved. It is believed that Canadian enlistment in the US Army during the Vietnam era far surpassed the 30,000 who fled as draft dodgers to Canada.[/quote:a9b07]
http://dede.essortment.com/canadasvietnam_rgwv.htm I was shocked as well when I heard that. |
[quote:96da3]Canadians serving in the US military is nothing new. This occurred as far back as the Civil War. Forty Canadians have won America’s highest military award – the Medal of Honor.[/quote:96da3]

True, Canadians fight for America, even though many Americans think we don't give a shit about them.
