One of my best nights ever
 

I know alot of you go to the concerts where people headbang, mosh, skank oOo: , scream, yell, etc. My personality doesn't bring me to those events. Alot of you know that I'm a jazzy and classical kinda guy.

Yesterday, we had the awesome experience of hosting one of jazz's most prestigous Trumpet players of all time--Maynard Ferguson. This is the second time he's been to my school, but this time he actually did a clinic with us. His band members are so great! They just aquired a new kit player that just graduated from University of North Texas (STOCKTON HELBING). The lead trumpet player was so amazing; I can't put it into words. He does stuff that you would think is impossible to do for 90mins straight (hitting double a's and b's the whole damn night).

We performed first that night and got to use his sound equipment. I think that stuff was worth more than my life. Their sound director, Seargent, recorded us and is going to give us a CD free of charge. So we're going to duplicate that and sell it as a fundraiser. Once I get my hands on it, i'll upload it for you guys to hear.

After we played our 6 charts, maynard and his band did their show. After everything was over, we helped pack up all the sound equipment and waited around to get stuff signed.

I made a rasterbation of Maynard and had the whole band sign it rock: . I also got my tie signed (pink tie was the trumpet's color. Red tie was for the saxes. White ties were for the percussion section and black ties were for the t'bones.)

lol about the Hey Jude. I don't think you can compare the two. Sure, the Beatles freakin composed the song and Maynard only did another arrangement. Still, both are great tunes.


And that girl is ranked 1st in Altos for all regional chorus (she's our jazz vocalist). Regionals consists of a bunch of states up here in the north east area.
