This day in 1955...

Albert Einstein a man who was revered for his genius and expertise in physics, back in his day he was respected for his genius and his knowledge he was considered an A list celebrity, a physicist considered an A list celebrity, it's a shame such people still aren’t admired for their knowledge, but instead others are admired for their wealth, and beauty.

In anycase lets admire, and honor his accomplishments and discoveries.
He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable loce-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder."[/quote:72ced]
"Peace cannot be achieved through violence, it can only be attained through understanding."[/quote:72ced]
I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.[/quote:72ced]
Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.[/quote:72ced]
Laws alone can not secure freedom of expression; in order that every man present his views without penalty there must be spirit of tolerance in the entire population.[/quote:72ced]

Rest in Peace Professor Einstein.

Agreed.

Aren't some people always trying to prove him wrong? oOo:

Einstien presented many theories, so yes there are theories that people will question, and that's what science is! Put fourth a theory and other scientists test it. If they come to the same conclusion, then the theory is correct, if not, the theory might be wrong. Many of Einsteins theories are accepted as being correct. Einsten even hypothesized at dark matter, and just now we are seeing the evidence that it does exist.
I've read Einsteins "Relativity", and I would like to get into some of his essays as well.

But there were some things even Einstein couldn't solve. The theory of everything. Einstein tried to merge the theories of gravity and electromagnetism with the strong and weak nuclear forces. Once we can do this it will give us a theory of everything. An equation that can explain quantum physics as well as the cosmos. He couldn't figure it out. And we still can't today. Many people look to string theory, but I think thats got a ways to go yet. Hopefully someday we can have a theory of everything.
