All Seeing Eye now supported!

If you are fed up with the in-game browser already then you may be interested in this new fix for the All Seeing Eye which allows you to connect directly to servers. ASE is the world's most popular game server browser and is a great way to find and join games more easily. Previously this wasn't possible, so thanks go to Digital Software for providing the fix.

All the documentation and necessary files can be found in the .rar download, which you can grab here: http://www.digitalsoftware.se/BF2_Connector.v1.0.rar

Haven't tried it yet as I haven't had any probs with my browser actually. Hopefully this works nicely for everyone until the bf2 patch is released... freak:

Won't this give you Punkbuster trouble?
No.

Does this work with Xfire?
Yes, make sure it loads BF2_Connector.exe

It doesn't work at all, i did everything what the readme said. And it starts up the game and i need to login and thats it...nothing ever happend.
That's because you need to learn to read, it said in the readme once you double clicked on the server, you load up the game, you go to MULTIPLAYER, press "JOIN IP" and type in "BF2" for the IP. It's easier when you actually have the game loaded.

I keep getting an error, "Couldnt locate your Hosts-files...Quitting"
Bah, suppose I'm stuck with the in game browser unless someone can tell me what I have done wrong.
Make sure both the .exe and .ini file are in the same directory, and the directory in the .ini file points to your BF2.exe

eek:

bah fuck that, thought it connected directly.

Sad bastards, annoy:

Ea will end up either banning the account or resetting the score anywayl.

They already got his money, no reason not to ban him now.

Glad ASE is working. I'm completely sick of the horrible quality of the ingame browser.

rdeyes 07-08-2005 12:28 AM

it really works with BF2 .... rock:

go update if you havent already

just do what this says and it will connect you to the server after you connect to the account server ..

Just open your filters.txt and replace the Battlefield 2 section to look like this :

-------------------------------------------------------

Battlefield 2
ServerType: GS
RegKey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2\InstallDir
ExeName: BF2.EXE
JoinTemplate: {EXEPATH} +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +joinServer {ip} +password {PASSWORD} +port {port}
Port: 29900
HostPort: 16567
Mutex: SV
WindowName: DIEmWin
1 if servertype != "GS" remove
2 if gamename != "battlefield2" remove
