[quote:f432b]TEHRAN, Iran Jun 30, 2005 — Iran's president-elect belonged to the group that seized the U.S. Embassy in 1979, but he played no role in either capturing or holding Americans hostage, according to friends, associates and a former hostage-taker interviewed Thursday.[/quote:f432b]

Guaranteed.

Proteus 06-30-2005 02:25 PM

I have no idea. But he looks like a good guy.

Pyro 06-30-2005 04:43 PM

We should be skepical, but it would be wrong to outright assume he was.

rdeyes 06-30-2005 06:08 PM

Five former U.S. hostages said they recognized Ahmadinejad and were certain he was one of the hostage-takers. One hostage said Ahmadinejad interrogated him during 444 days of captivity and appeared to be the students' security chief.

i doubt these people that where held hostage would forget someone that interragated them ...

So did George Bush Sr. and his son Dubya...so I guess if our continent can be wrong then lets let other places do the same.

Answer = No. The ears are different. Smells like more anti-Iran propaganda to me. sleeping:

I haven't seen any pictures from 1980 where you can see his ears. His eyes look different, something about his brow...but eyes change as you get older. The nose, especially way it comes to a point in the front is the exact same. Still, hard to tell.

The picture may or may not be him but the part of the article quoted below shows why they are still investigating...

[quote:d9b94]William J. Daugherty, a former CIA officer who was one of the hostages, said Friday that he was not positive that Ahmadinejad was the bearded man shown in the 1979 photo, but said he remained convinced that Ahmadinejad was among the hostage takers.

Daugherty, who lives in Savannah, Ga., said he and other former hostages "did not make our identification based on that AP photo from 1979. We made it looking at the guy today."
