did you download the mp 1.1 patch http://www.fileplanet.com/index.asp ?file=84126? if not that's your problem. If you did already,when you're connecting to a server open up your console and see if it says something like server for low pings only, if it does try closing gamespy and reconnecting.

ya I have 1.1 but i also have 56k

The default "allowjointime" server setting is 30 seconds..so with a 56k connection it may be difficult to complete the connection under that time http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/frown.gif
