are you for or against a regulated civilian gun market?


personally, i disagree with gun control seeing as if you want to murder someone; you'll do whatever you can to get a gun. So for me, overly paranoid gun control seems pointless.

I think that American citizens have a right to own guns but should be required to have special permits to own assault weapons. I also think that people should be required to take gun safety classes when they purchase a weapon.

I also think it is a good idea to continue to advance with gun locks like the fingerprint ones and all that to make it harder for kids to have gun accidents and to make it harder for people to steal guns.

Make less lethal weaponry more mainstream for home safety. However, I don't believe in antigun legislation.

A perfect example is that guy who killed the kids for throwing eggs at his car.

If it was more difficult to obtain weapons, would he have one?

Carrying a personal weapon seems stupid: to me.

This is a tough issue. I'm not exactly sure where I stand. I plan on purchasing a couple rifles. I use all types of weapons in the Army regularly.

There also seems to be two different issues: protection and hunting.

Hunting is no prob. There are actually 5 different rifles and 2 shotguns in my house right now. In addition to that an old 6 shooter that has been passed down for a while.

Guns for responsible people = yes.

guns for people who will snap at kids throwing eggs = no.

i;m not sure how you can screen for that and how "constitutional" that is to deny someone a firearm.

I somewhat for it, but it definitely needs to be changed around a lot to allow some more rights or somethin. eek: oOo:

Coming from someone who doesnt live in a country where firearms are legal... I personally believe firearms should be legal to people with a firearm permit. This person should only be able to have it in their own home or car for 'personal protection'/'self-defence' or hunting should it be legal. You should not be able to simply carry a firearm when walking down the street, but another form of non lethal weapon could be carried as a replacement such as a taser etc.

i know where you're coming from man. But you have to sit down and think, if this guy really wants to own a gun for protection, even if the strictist gun laws are in place; that guy would have obtained one anyway through illegal means.

there should be standard background checks on all firearms, but limiting what firearms you can own seems pointless if a crazy person can obtain one through illegal means anyway.

yeah i understand.

but we do't really know if that person would persue getting a weapon or not. maybe having stricter laws would turn some people away. it won't do anything for crime, but i mena just the guy who wants it.

you know, i think if i were involved in some sort of crime i would rather not ahve a gun. you'd probably ahve a better chance of living.

...But it's alot easier to pull a trigger than to kill someone up close. Up close, the person has a much better chance of defending themselves than If someone stands 30 feet away and simply moves their index finger sightly.

Gun control is totally different for each country, there is no global solution. The U.S has it harder to find an answer simply because of their black market.

Look @ Canada. Prime example really. automatics should be illegal except for using it on a range, or for display purposes (locked up).
