i think they are using a SIP based protocol as they are offering alternate OS builds. Older protocols arent supported on alternate OS's (H323/MGCP). Cisco is gearing up to release a Linux based voip call control software on their CallManager platform sometime this years as CCM 5.0....with Windows build soon after. SIP is used in messenger services (yahoo/aol etc)...its all text based blah blah blah....

Im curious what kind of QoS measures they have in place and what codecs they are using (g.729@8k im guessing with cRTP to reclaim another 4k????).

i didnt see anything on their site about technologies (bseides P2P buzzword sleeping: )....

yeah was just on their. it says the code and protocol is proprietary ed: pretty cool stuff...
