he is presenting himself as an authority on the subject. i he knows what the optics should be like then surely he knows the name of the company that created them. its a well known ww2 fact.

dont help the children

yes zeiss made all the german optics. german optics were far superior to anything the allies had.

The Bishop 02-12-2002 03:47 AM

Doh my bad. Ever used a Swarovski though? those things are WAY awesome, although Zeiss are just as good. Mmmmmmmm, scopes.....

The American and German reticles are accurate. The 03 usually had a Weaver M73B1 2.5x (sometimes up to 5x) power scope. The German scope was less standardized, but almost all had the post cross hair. You just had a larger mix (they were typically Zfxx or Zxx). To check for yourself, look in "The Book of US Sniping" or "The German Sniper: 1914 - 1945". The latter is particularly full of detail and is the source most collectors use.

no his scope was like the allied scope but towards the center of the crosshairs the lines got much thinner

Ask the Germans on the recieving side of a B-17 bomb sight who had better optics. http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif
