Help with opening ports
 

I have followed Dogmeat's port list and done as it told me.

and i can see my server on the internet list, but cant join my own server through the internet list. IT says connecting and never changes status.

I can join my own server through the lan list or my typing in the IP.

NO one else can see the name of my server on the internet list but can join by IP.


I am running the didicated server from my PC, and also the client side. All from the same server.

Can anyone help? tell me why i cant join through the internet listing and why no one else can either?

1) If you can see your server on the internet list everybody else should be able to.

2)If you can join your server using the LAN list then use the LAN list to join your server.

3)If your buddies can join your server using the IP then your buddies should use the IP to join your server.

You can't join your server through the internet because your server is in the same fricken box that your playing out of.

Do total strangers join your server? How do you think they found it?

No , no one that i have spoken to can see my server on the internet listing. And no strangers have joined it either.

Just people that know my IP or that is on my Local.

If you saw your server listed in the ingame browser or on Game-spy then it's listed. How long did you leave your server running? It can take a while for it to show up on Game-spy. Leave your server running overnight and then go to your buddies house and see if it's listed. I could start up a server and run around in it for twenty minutes or so before people would start showing up.

Do you have two copies of the game installed on your computer. If not then your stopping your server to try to play. You can not run a dedicated server and play with only one copy of the game on your computer.
