Weed makes you drive better

... says this permanantly stoned kid in my Government class.
"Weed makes you drive better because it helps you understand more."
"I like the taste of it." After denying he never smoked weed. Everyone laughed when he did say so.

So incredibly funny but ... tragic?

weed slows your perception of what happens. I do not at all believe that it makes you a better driver. Sadly I admitt to driving while slight stoned once and I wont do it again. I did it out of absolutle necessity.

Touchy subject this.

I'm used to my buzz on weed and can operate fine doing pretty much anything so long as I haven't just had a mammoth session within 20 minutes of driving.

My reaction times are fine. Then again, I would NEVER have driven stoned 2 or 3 years ago. I dunno, I've driven so much when stoned and all of my friends have too that I'm so used to it. I can't remember ever even coming close to an accident of any sort when high. I've been in more risky situations when driving tired or just normally.

I do think that is a coincidence, because I don't think it makes me a better driver, but I definitely wouldn't agree that it makes me worse off. I wouldn't put people at risk If I didn't fully trust myself behind the wheel. I'd never drink drive, because I cannot operate properly physically or mentally when I'm drunk, but when I'm high nowadays all it does is make me think a little deeper.

It's very different for other people though. I certainly don't encourage it. It's something only you yourself can initially judge about before trying.

I know I'm probably gonna get flamed for this because people around here have strong opinions on this, but I fully trust myself behind the wheel.

you're pretty much exactly right...

If i'm just a lil high I can drive, but if i'm smoking alot then i'm won't drive.

Quze 09-16-2005 12:19 PM

Did it once, didn't change anything. Wasn't that high though.

Driving stoned is almost exactly the same to me as driving sober.

When stoned I like to know exactly where im going because I get nervous if Im going somewhereI have no idea where it is and shit.

Anyways driving stoned is a hell of a lot easier than driving drunk.

I pay attention more when im stoned too...because I don't know I think in my head by driving Im not the same as sober so I pay attention more, but really im perfectly fine...and if i day dream for 2 seconds i fucking right myzself right away and am like good im ok, when really it is normal, but i just panic for a sec.

When I first started I was fucking terrified then I got used to it.

I would never drive stoned, you waste gas going three miles an hour.

I think everyone like yourself think that you will never get in an accident, but there are other people on the road and if they hit you the charges are all going to come to the guy that is high or drunk.
That’s the way I look at it and why I won’t drive high. Because if someone else hits you, you are no longer the victim.

Jakke 09-16-2005 02:08 PM

hah, i can't even ride my bike if i'm stoned (and i aint talking about the slight buzz stoned, im talking about the SERIOUS SHIT)

Not to mention all the money you waste by stopping for chips and stuff.
