The Iraq War
What would you have done if you were in-charge of the planning?
Side-Note: Obviously none of us are Generals or what have you, but list some general things that you would do if you were in charge of management of the Iraq War. |
Tell the civilians to get the fuck out...we're levelling the whole fucking country.
rock: Nah, knowing me, I'd try to work it out and come to peaceful terms... rolleyes: |
Ok.......what trunks would do...... Well I would attempt to engage any and all iraqi forces out in the open desert where we have them outranged, and overpowered. All cities would be surrounded, citizens would be allowed to leave, on foot. Everything else would be blown to bits, so to speak. Cities would not be entered, as that is how many of the casualties would be suffered. All major cities would be put under sieges. With all the technology on our side it would be fairly easy to decimate city defenders, while taking little to no casualties. As for desert combat, I would use something like what the Egyptian Army used in one of their wars with Israel. I would have my main army, supported by a vast array of anti tank missile batteries. Air force and helicopters would scout ahead, and the main army would destroy anything they didnt. Basically, The big thing that id change is the way I took over cities. Siege>assault. i think the american commanders were under so much pressure to win the war quickly that they acted with haste over careful deliberation.
