Checking for open ports on d-link router
my router keeps blocking the port used for soulseek. ive tried to open it up but i dont know how, instead, how would i check for open ports? i can change soulseek to use whatever's open.
|
Tried putting 192.168.0.1 into the address bar and opening the ports in the setup for it?
|
yeah but it still doesnt seem to work.
when it asks for private ip - is this the ip of my router connecting ot the schools netwrok or the lan address of my pc? http://www.portforward.com/english/rout ... I-5243.jpg |
I think the pvt ip has to be the lan ip. Not really sure since i dont see that option in my linksys setup.
Can usally just ue port forwarding to allow the program to access the net, does it not say on the souleek website what ports it uses? |
the website says it's my lan ip but that still doesnt work. how can i just search for open portS?
|
Not sure how to search for open ports, if you can access the port forwarding this tells you hw to find what ports it uses

fixed. i was confused on something within soulseek that had nothing to do with ports. i thought a closed port was keepnig me from downloading. close thread if you want, otherwise ill just spam it with random pictures.
