PC problem

I have 3 PC's in my house, recently one of them have been beeping when you turn it on, turn it off and back on again and it would work. However the other day it stopped working all together, it would just beep on and off when you power up.

So I did my usual checks, Vid card, memory etc. Found the video card was fine but found the problem was something to do with the RAM. I took one stick out and tried it and it worked, I immediately thought great, only a dud stick of RAM. So I put in the old stick of RAM and removed the working one and it beeped. I put in the working one tested it and it still beeped. cry:

So I tried multiple other sticks of RAM including working ones from my PC, and had the beeping problem still. I tried the sticks from the knackered PC in my PC and it was producing the same beeping problems. One of my old spare working sticks of RAM would stop the PC from beeping but the PC wouldnt do anything else, the monitor wouldnt turn on etc,

So it seems the 2 sticks of RAM are fucked. Not only that but the mobo also seems to be fucked. I dont have spare mobo to try it and dont really want to waste the money just to test it and find out the mobo is fine.

On a final note, Never buy a premade PC from a company like Tiny. The wiring in them are horrible. Took me 20 mins to get a single stick of RAM back in due to the wires in the mobo and the harddrive in the way. My hands have been ripped to shreads because of it.

try the shit ram on the good PC's and see what that does, also a good diagnostic to check the mobo is if it talks to you. take out all the ram and try to start it. if it talks its usually fine, and if it doesnt toss it. the other thing that could be wrong also is the harddrive, mainly the bios, try swapping out a harddrive to see what happens.

Good Luck

I've tried the RAM that came out of that PC im mine but it doesnt work, ends up beeping in mine. The spare RAM I have lying around does work.

How do you mean see if it talks to me? What should it do if I turn it on without RAM? I'll try swapping the HDD later

if the mobo is good it should say that you need RAM when you start it w/ out it. its a clear indicator that its self diagnostics are working and that the RAM slots are funtional, especially if other ram works the mobo is fine. but id def try the harddrive. another quick and easy indicator of a bad mobo is the nose test, just smell it, if it smells burnt, it probably is
