Certifications

I just signed up for an online training course that'll allow me to become comptia certified within a year. I was just wondering if anyone else here is in the process of becoming certified (IT or other field ) or already is.

I need some IT certifications,

give me some places to get it online guys.

you can study online but you'll need to take the tests in some certified test center. CompTIA usually has expensive tests (+200 dollars to take one) but the good thing is you're certified for life. Other tests such as ones by Cisco you have to re-certify every 3 years or so.

I signed up with http://www.cbtdirect.com. They have a wide range of IT programs available and are partned with tons of companies including dell and microsoft. The guy set me up with a $3500 (no interest) plan for a year. I figured i'd rather dish out that much $$$ for something needed instead of bs like clothes, games, accessories etc. It's a great deal if you ask me

Working on my CCNA right now. I have been taking the classes at my HS and i Completed CCNA 1 & 2. Going to take the test in a few weeks.

Senior year ill take CCNA 3 & 4, then test on those, and get my CCNA Certification

the certs are probably a nice addition to a degree id say ... most of the jobs ive seen require both.

of course they'd prefer that you have both but realistically, the qualifications for some of those jobs are just plain ridiculous! If you were to submit your resume (certifications w/o degree), im sure you'd get a callback from them for an interview. And say if you're in the process of receiving your degree or certificate for whatever it is they require you to have, that would also work. Just give it and try and have faith
