SATA-II HD
 

im looking at buying a 250 gig SATA-II harddrive, but will my mobo be able to run SATA-II?
my mobo is a Asus P5AD2 Deluxe Motherboard, it has 4 SATA ports but says nothing about SATA-II

yeah, i did some mild research and found that sata II in most cases is backward compatible with sata. However, it may be limited to 1.5 gbs a sec on certain systems that dont support "autonegotiation" between the 2 ports

I've been thinking of getting one myself but i'll probaly get an external hdd before that

still using ATA here.
