Any criminal activity at Nebraska is no different than at any other major college football school. Generally people just point to Lawrence Phillips and no one else, espically within the past 8-9 years. rolleyes: The same goes for Miami. Butch Davis/Larry Coker have run a clean program. |
Another good opportunity flushed down the toilet. Fucking skid.

Although this made me laugh quite a bit. [quote="Sicilian_Summers":8f448]The same goes for Miami. Or is that not a violation of policy there. The team also have their own police blotter for recruiting lol. Miami Hurricanes make police blotter, but in self-defense Tuesday, 25 July 2006 Back in the days when JIMMY JOHNSON was coaching the University of Miami football team the Hurricanes were winning consistently but they were so out of control off the field the president of the university ordered a cleanup of the program. Maybe the university football team will regain its old form now that the Hurricanes are back in the crime news again, although this time as victims. WILLIE COOPER, a reserve safety, was shot in the buttocks Friday in front of his home in South Miami. Starting safety BRANDBN MERIWEATHER pulled out a pistol and fired three times at the assailant as he jumped over a fence but apparently missed. The question is: Why was Meriweather carrying a gun? When Penn State won the 1986 national championship by defeating heavily favored Miami in the Fiesta Bowl, 14-10, the Hurricanes arrived in Arizona wearing Army combat outfits. Their pre-game publicity in Arizona was mostly negative. Johnson said it took him years to get over that loss. One year, when Miami played Notre Dame, the game was billed as the Convicts vs. the Catholics, which went over like a lead balloon with the Miami administration. On the plus side, the Hurricanes may be getting rid of one player with a record. WILLIE WILLIAMS, who received a football scholarship two years ago despite being arrested 11 times wants to transfer. He wants more playing time, Standard-Speaker syndicated columnist TOM Fitzgerald pointed out Sunday. MSU > MU

I was listening to Out of Bounds on Fox Sports Radio today and they were talking about the biggest waste of talent in sports. This guy pretty much tops the list, because he was one hell of a player. Better than Adrian Peterson IMO. He might not have been able to go straight from high school to the NFL and have been successful (the only player capable of doing that would have been Bo Jackson), but he could have been decent. He squatted close to 700 lbs his freshman year and already weighed 235. HOLY FUCK.

Merriweather used a legally registered handgun for self defense. Why was he carrying it? He was investigating a strange car parked in front of his yard at 6 in the morning, and he was bringing it for protection, as is his right. Miami isn't exactly the safest community in the United States. Willie Williams has been an absolute angel at Miami. He did everything he was expected to and caused absolutely no problems. Any other school in the country would have jumped at the opportunity to grab Williams out of high school, regardless of his criminal past (as is the case with most recruits and most schools). The last "incident" at Miami other than this recent gunfight was 3 freakin years ago, when Antrell Rolle got into a fight with some people that were screwing with his car. Butch Davis/Larry Coker have run a clean program. |
can we just say 7/10 black athletes in college are criminals or deviants and move on?
