this will be the death of the PS series of consoles annoy:

Sicilian_Summers 09-02-2006 12:29 PM

Is there any statistic on what percentage of console gamers have an HDTV?

Microsoft may win the next gen console war simply becaucse PS3 is too far ahead of its time. An average guy like me doesn't want to pay 600 dollars for a bunch of hardware I'm not going to use. But, the PS3 is definately more of a value if you ARE looking for things like a next-gen movie player.

the cables are never thrown in, if you buy a thousand dollar plasma the cables are not included, just coaxial cable. Just because its 600 dollars doesnt mean it should come with the cables. With consoles becoming as advanced as they are ofcourse the price is gonna go up, its no different than buying a new camera, camcorder, laptop, or home audio equipment.

I have a giant HDTV in my front room, but the fact that any gaming system is HD is not going to get me to buy it.

In fact, I don't think I'm going to buy any console systems coming up because they all act like the only thing that matters is how awesome they can get their graphics. It seems every game that comes out is just a graphics demo these days.

Same dude, i cant even play my games like they should be played on my 360

Also a good ploy for Microsoft is to release Halo 3 the same day the PS3 comes out lol which they are doing

Also sicilian, give the Blu-Ray dvd players a year or so when they come out, the price will drop drastically just like the dvd players now have, they use to be ridiculous dont yo uremember? Now you can get one for 50 dollars.

We have a Blu-ray player at Best Buy, 999.99 dollars. We have had it for a few months with no one buying it.
