Albums That Made You Who You Are
I've seen this done in other forums and it thought it was pretty cool. Just post the albums that influenced you. Lets keep it civil, fellas.

Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast
Iron Maiden - Powerslave Iron Maiden - Live After Death Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil Joe Satriani - Surfing with the Alien Metallica - ...And Justice For All Judas Priest - Defenders of the Faith |
i find this too hard to answer. I have too broad of music tastes to list them in influencial albums--Jazz, classical, soundtrack, some hip-hop, 80's rock, rock, pop (yeah i admit it stfu)...pretty much everything except for hardcore gangsta rap. That stuff is better on paper as poetry.

Yeah, I don't think music has infulenced me really to be who I am, but I think there is some music that I really enjoy listening to because perhaps I can relate to it, and I find it extremly beautiful. Namley Pink Floyd.

tom morello is an excellent guitarist, great use of effects and is extremely unique. zach de la rocha's vocals are powerful and i like the mix of electric guitar and rap vocals. |
Audioslave is better imo. Its also proably my distaste for the lead singers voice, he is probably more annoying than the backstreet boys.

I totally disagree. I'd much prefer Rage over Audioslave. I find Audioslave bland.
Just sayin'. I listed the albums I did for different reasons. The Maiden albums dominated my years from grade 7 to this day. "Shout at the Devil" was the first "metal" record I ever bought. "...And Justice For All" was the mainstay of my high school days "Surfing..." was a huge influence on my guitar playing when it first came out. Satch blew my little mind. "Defenders..." can be lumped in with the Maiden records. Just a dominant soundtrack to my youth, which I look back on with nothing but fondness. All those albums were bought on cassette...heh. |
I loved RATM. Saw audioslave when they came here last year. they played a few RATM songs as well as Soundgarden. The concert was awesome. Tom morello is an awesome guitar player. Would go back to see audioslave in a heartbeat. And i'm sure I will when they come through again for their new album tour.

Ive always been a fan of Classic Rock, especially after the early 90s when rock totally started to suck ass. Best album by the best band. Best album of the 90s The beginning of Pink floyd in their prime, and their best album. my favourite rap album, from the best year hip-hop has ever seen, 1994. I used to hate Rap, because well, I never really tried to listen to it. Then I heard this. |
