Pleeze dont tell me this is going to be one of these games where allies dont get affected by you shooting at them. That sergant in the water sounds like he needs a couple of holes put in him http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif.

Can we do that and if so will other allies turn and shoot back?

Dude think about it, you're in the military: I think it's the only fair that if you do shoot your own men it's game over for you right away, whether you'll be hunt down by your other teammates or it's just a discharge message http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif

SoLiDUS 07-21-2001 06:38 AM

HAHAHAHAHHA NO ! You go at it MAX PAYNE style ! Both sides want you dead.. except for the little troops that don't know about it that you see here and there.. lol

I like certain parts of Deus Ex when you can decide who to kill and it will subtly change the outcome. I've never finished the game so I don't truly know how much it changes things.

Well i wanna kill my own men just for the sake of it being there to do if you want. Ive played far too many games where a certain person is invulnerable to your shots or you cant harm your own team.

HEHE picture being chased around omaha beach by the allied side.

I think they should let you shoot your own men, adds realism, so you would be carefull where you throw your nades at and where you shoot.

Hehehe, actually in Soldier of Fortune 2, they've taken that element and worked on it very well. If you disobey orders from a Commanding Officer too many times, or take out one the Special Forces guys your working with in many of the missions, you'll be hunted down and taken out. Thats something that is very cool. in all reality though, why would you want to shoot one of your own men ??

Actually, if you watch the 2nd movie as they're running up the beach, right before you get to the shingle, you see a nade fly from behind you and blow up someone in front of you, i think you can kill your own men.

That would be great that you could hurt your own men. Then you must control your shooting so that you dont kill allied soldiers by accident.

I've played Operation Flashpoint for some time now and I've shot the NATO medic atleast six times. There's this bug that sends medic attacking in front of the line and he's been caught in my line of fire quite often. I brought this up just because in that game you must identify the target before you can shoot and thats tricky if the distance is long. But I like that and I would love to see that same thing in MoH AA too.

If they make MoH so that you can shoot your own men, they should make some kind of script or something that enemies dont recognise you from a mile away though. That would suck, if the minute enemy sees you, you are shot at.

Friendly Fire has to be in the game for realism..

it would be kool if you could kil lyour own men, it would give u lots to do once you've beaten the games a bunch of times and have nothing else to do, but i highly doubt they'll chase you..

there are 3 different endings. and ppl u kill on earlier levels dont effect which ending u get. its ppl u kill and choices u make on ONLY the las 2 levels that effect which of the 3 endings u see. i saved my game at the 3rd to last level and have seen all 3 endings. lemme give u a hint as to the best ending. if u have heard a guy named Helios or Icaurus talking to you and they want u to join them, then do so. that gets u the best ending! its amazing, it almost explains the meaning of life!

In the Omaha mission if all you have is an M1, I'd kill an officer and take the thompson. It would be cool if you shot them that when they were on the ground they would say "why" in that famous tone of voice.

IN omaha mission u dont only get a M1.

Check the website for mission summaries.
I copied this from the website, its long but in the end it says the weapons u get for the mission.

--------------------------------------------
Location: Charlie Sector, Omaha Beach, France
Date/Unit: June 6, 1944, 2nd Ranger Battalion (C Company),
Main Objective: Secure the western flank of the Vierville draw.
M3L1 (Assault): Destroy all fixed major gun emplacements along the top of the bluff.

The Allied invasion of Normandy is at hand. Since the deactivation of the 1st Ranger Battalion in January of this year, you have been transferred to "C" Company of the 2nd Ranger Battalion. You will land at 0635 hours on D-Day, only moments behind soldiers from the 116th Inf. Regiment.

Once you and your unit have reached the bluff top, locate all fixed gun emplacements and casemates, and destroy the guns with explosive charges. Most of the young soldiers going in with you have never been in real combat, much less landed on a heavily defended beach, Lieutenant. That's why we need experienced soldiers like you to lead the invasion and keep things together out there.

Enemies Encountered:

The Wehrmacht Soldier is your basic grunt. He wears the basic green/gray war tunic and trousers and carries a Mauser Kar 98K rifle.

The Wehrmacht Grenadier is a tougher soldier. He usually operates stationary weapons such as the MG-42 machine gun, but also carries a Walther P38 pistol for personal close-quarters defense. They also wear the basic green/gray war tunic and trousers but usually have machine gun ammunition belts wrapped around their neck as well as additional canisters of machine gun ammo, a pistol holster, and are sometimes covered with a poncho like, camouflaged, Zeltbahn.

The Wehrmacht Field Officers are nasty and much more difficult to eliminate. They use an MP-40 SMG and Walther P38 pistol and wear the officer style cap, gray/green officers tunic with riding breeches, knee high boots and a pistol holster.

Weapons for M3L1:

M1 Garand - Rifle
Mark II - Grenade
Thompson - SMG
Springfield 1903 Sniper - Rifle
