So... I'm bored this morning so I turn on the TV and surf until I get to CNN. Where I see that Al-Qaeda (sp?), has tested chemicals on dogs. They showed how they poured cyanide right next to a dog and watched it die. They went on about how Al-Qaeda has trained in urban warfare and all kinds of other shit. Anyone else see clips of this shit?

I didn't see that but that is horrible. Those idiots make me sick. I hope the US captures all of em.

And? Does that mean its Al-Qaeda or any "terrorist organisation"? I'm pretty sure western governments have done/still do the same thing. You think we don't test our (chemical) weapons on animals? What's new?

i dont think we tested poison on dogs though. maybe rats but not dogs

Im sure weve tested poisons on lots of animals especially primapes since they are so closely related to us. Is that anymore right then testing poisons on dogs. I saw that video too, it really pissed me off and to know they actually have chemical weapons pisses me off even more. Well i guess its better to be pissed off then pissed on. eatthis:

Your comment fits in so brilliantly with what Baudrillard says. There is too much belief in facts, that everything simply is. The camera lies, dear boy, it doesn't tell the truth. Scenes are edited, choices are made over what to show and what not to... ohh the list goes on. It is certainly NOT proof. Where is your proof that is Al-Qaeda? Because CNN or an "official" says so? This is a great piece of footage for encouraging greater public support and hatred for the "terrorists". It would not surprise me one bit if this was government propaganda and this took place in a shady basement in New York somewhere. That is not to say Al-Qaeda don't test weapons on animals, but this video is certainly not proof that they do. Don't be so naive

We'll (the western world) have tested on everything. In fact, most of our testing (this includes everything, not just weapons) is done on humans. However, when it comes down to it big issues (weapons, vaccines etc) I'm sure we're quite extensive with a range of subjects.

Anyway, its all rather subjective. Yes this is horrific, but I get the feeling many here think so only because it is a dog, and not, for example, a rat. We're (the west) seen as being horrific for eating cows by some places around the world.
