Another public question about the Chat Filter. . .
 

I was wondering which people wanted to see, a version that sounds the same, or a word that's totally different. See the votes to see what I mean.

i'd rather see one that works 100%, i found a way to get around it completely on accident a few weeks back.

there's plenty of ways around it. It's just that it takes alot of attempts to figure out exactly how. Hopefully when 1.1 comes out, it will limit them more.

Are people really that offended by bad laguage that you would need a filter? I mean i'll toss you for some key words that just push my buttons or tend to cause major problems. But when did ass, and shit becaome so horrible? I personally dont mind a few course words here or there. I like to hear:

"Damn, you just blew my fucking head off."
"holy shit, your good"

I will not stand racial remarks ****** Is one word i wont even type out and is an instant boot with no warning. Maybe im just to laid back. Should i be more offended by bad language? as long as its not people fighting with eachother i dont see the big deal. i'll put in my vote, though i dont see the point.

i think it should change swears to words that sound baby=ish and infantile like poo, and butt. because people who obscessivly swear are that, baby-ish and infantile.

No offense but I find it disturbing that some people find racial slurs so much worse than calling people some of the curse words I hear. I'm not sure how demeaning a person racially is any worse than saying their mother is a dog in heat. Strange how some have come to accept that but are so offended by racial issues. What about religious issues. Ah I guess thats a matter of choice. What about gender issues? I see plenty of offensive words used against women but I guess those are OK too.

The point here is that some people don't really want to have to look at people typing crap on the screen just to play a game. I appreciate the effort that have gone into this filter.....thnx again guys.
