What, ther's actually a pretty decent custom SP map out!?!

I guess the German map contest "Map Assault 2002" will shortly be announced in a more fitting manner on here. I just stumbled across their site (http://contest.3dgaming.de) where they have recently announced the winners, complete with competing maps available for download. There was just one entry in the single player section. Now, from what I've seen of ealier attempts at creating SP maps I was kind of suspicious of how it would play, but my oh my... Damn it, that map, "Westwall", is actually pretty damn good, at least for a custom SP map. (Didn't take all that much skill to finish it though.)

So why isn't anybody else doing them? flamethrower:

I actually already did play it again, just to make sure i hadn't missed anything. freak: But yes, I'm afraid you're probably right, but heck, it was nice while it lasted, just as the whole SP part of MOHAA was. If I had the time and skill to make an SP map I think I would be pretty happy with, say, 10.000 people downloading it and playing it, even if they played it just once (or twice). Though, granted, you have a point...

The only thing real sensible for a custom SP map is for the people that make total conversion mods and maybe even to spark other peoples interest in making their own map similar to that one.
Or some people may think EA would take one of their SP maps and make it famous (very rare occurance except if it's a multiplayer map).
