German uniforms look excellent in game.
The germans run and move about realistically. The inside of the bunker is very well done with bits of dust and stuff falling down. The sounds again are excellent. (if the tommygun and garand sounds are changed in the slightest im flying over there to open a can of whoopass on y'all http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif) The models are also very well done do not change the coloring of the metal section of the garand cause i love it the way it is. Omaha beach is put quite simply astounding its the closest to saving pvt ryan any game has come or for the forseeable future will come to. Waves in the beach and the water effects are nice the closer u get to shore the more transparent the water is. The amounts of hits the germans take seems to vary accordingly to where on their body u hit them. The first german inside the bunker gets hit in the nut and drops immediately while others get hit a good bit lower and take more rounds to dispatch. This sort of teaches u to be accurate when facing multiple enemies. The helmets falling off when u kill some germans. All i can say is http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif The germans talking and stuff adds nice ambience instead of the usual silent enemies we are used to seeing in games. The grenade explosion looked good not OTT like in dod. What really made me laugh was when u shoot captain kraut (the guy in the peaked hat). The german beside him suddenly looks pissed and charges you seemingly in an attempt to disarm you or hit you with his gun. That bit was excellent and demonstrates the face changes that have been advertised as a feature in-game. he also sounds as if hes swearing at u in german http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif The german tipping over the table looked good and oddly enough almost mirrored a scene in a return to castle wolfenstein vid http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/eek.gif. SO all in all good job on the game so far guys aside froma few smaller bugs it seems to be taking shape very well. [This message has been edited by Gerard (edited August 08, 2001).] |

But that will change, Waffenampt and I are working with the map artist, i think his name is scott. They will be DEAD ON by the release! |
I thought the grenade blast looked quite small. Looking beyond all the dust, the explosion is very small. Anyways, I'd like to see the germans seem kind of disabled when they're hit, because especially from a Garand, a Thompson as well, one hit and you'll be alive but still able to fire, but it kinda seems as though they act normal when shot once, which is what I disliked about other games and their animations. I think it would be sweet to have the tension of making sure an enemy is dead and not lying on the ground and crawling to his gun so he can shoot you in the back. As in SPR, you'll have to shoot the air out of their lungs http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/tongue.gif

everyone of gerards comments I love, one great thing would be if when the german was charging you he started yelling in german

And it's not technically completely finished, they can still make changes to make it better, i'm sure the grenade explosion there was just temporary. Notice that the music isn't even put in yet, the music is gonna be great.
