well before the beatles there were a few. like chuck berry the father of rock guitar. jerry lee lewis, buddy holly. to name a few.along with elvis they are the pioneers. imo[/quote:88785]
Of course, if it weren't for the jazz thet came before that, those guys never would have existed. 20's ragtime, 30's and 40's swing, stuff like Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, and the stuff that came before them. Also, Be-bop that was emerging at the same time like Charlie Parker. And of course, we could carry this argument back through history to Gregorian chants and whatnot.
