Well, I agree with you about 2 things:

First, lag in BF42 is due to the program. I only have the demo, but it runs awesome on my computer...except that every once in a while, for no appearant reason whatsoever, it lags hardcore. Just once, not consistantly, not for any reason...it just lags. I figure it must just be typically buggy EA games code...

Secondly, anything over 512 of ram is a waste.

However, I think that buying SDRAM is also a waste of money. I still don't think you understand what DDR is. Having DDR ram does not mean that you've "doubled" the amount of ram you have installed. It means the ram runs twice as fast (well, not actually twice as fast but in theory). That means anything which goes into ram (which is a lot of stuff) gets processed faster. 512 megs of DDR is not equivilent to 1 gig of SDRAM. It's the same amount of storage space, just faster.
