Yeah, they weren't...

Steamboat Willie = Guy who kills Wade and Miller...
SS Dude = Guy who kills Mellish...

Jeez, we have to draw ya a diagram ??

Perhaps a reason I can think of is that the dude who killed Mellish was Steamboat Willie's standin, and the real guy who played Steamboat Willie wasn't available on the day of the shoot... So maybe it was Steamboat Willie who killed Mellish, but another guy was playing him... oOo:

Note that we never see the guy who kills Mellish again after that...
