I agree with you, Quze, to a point. I'm a die hard metalhead, but I like metal that has melody and power, not just blind aggression.
Metal to me is:

Anthrax
Judas Priest
Slayer
Iced Earth
Pantera
Metallica (pre 1990)
Megadeth
Down
Machine Head
That's the shit I love.
