From the looks of it, I'd say it is MoHAA II. Also because it is to be developed by some of the original MoHAA developers.
If the idea (at least the basics) is the same as that of MoHAA, I suspect this may be a competitor for the 'real' MoHAA II, to be developed by EA.
I have more faith in the original MoHAA team than in EA's current MoHAA team, largely based on my experience with Spearhead, which is nothing like MoHAA. Especially regarding the multiplayer maps, skins and the way the engine works. We all know the system requirements for Spearhead greatly surpass MoHAA's, and why? It looks the same. For instance, my videocard is not the fastest available, but sufficient for playing MoHAA. I use 16 bit colours (can't really tell the difference between 16 and 32, and performance is better in 16). When playing Spearhead on 16 bit, there's 'fog' everywhere, to gain some FPS, I think. In MoHAA it is fine. This proofs my point, to some extent.
If I had to, I would place my bets on this game, rather than on EA's MoHAA II. Because EA is...EA. Ah well, when Call of Duty becomes popular, EA can still buy the rights and ruin it with an expansion pack, biggrin:
Looking at the screenshots, my guess is I will definitely need to upgrade for this game, or choose to play it at lower resolution and/or detail.
And by the way, looking at the topic title, I thought: This might be coming out soon. The website says 'fall 2003'. So, Christmas at the earliest?
I don't want to wait that long, so let's hope EA can fob me with the next expansion for MoHAA. I'm not counting on it. Prejudiced? Yes.
