Its not nasty when you wake up during surgery.
I've had 6 operations and I woke up during one of them, and when you wake up you are so drowsy and disoriented from the high powered medication that you cant even feel the pain. I just woke up, threw up, and they put the little mask back on me and sleepy sleepy.[/quote:fe8ed]

Lucky you.

I awoke and could feel the sucker right at the back of my throat. It was insanely uncomfortable and I did feel pain. All I could feel was this sucker at the back of my throat, dry mouth, bright light and I couldn't move or do a thing.

All I could manage was a weak wail as I tried to call out, I think. As you said they must have dropped me back down quite quickly, but it seemed to last forever.

I remember it vividly, even now, after what must be about 20 years. Nasty is accurate.
