Damn, you beat me to it. However, we all know that when people say Mexican they are referring to tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, flautas, chimichangas, etc. Real Mexican food tends to not use as much spice, and the dishes are unique. You'll see a heavy Tex-Mex influence around the border of Mexico, but around Mexico City you'll see more of MExican than anything else. If you're ever around the Dallas area, or live in Dallas, go to Desperado's, it's a few blocks off of Mockingbird Ln. They make original Mexican dishes, and it's good.
