Kinda like what the Nazis did in Denmark during ww2 huh?
exactly, the nazis new how to deal with guerillas and were masters of counter insurgency techniques. i recomend to anyone with the money to purchase the book "the devils legion" off of ebay. the book details how after ww2 the foriegn legion activly recruited former ss soldiers and actually created an entire division out of former ss soldiers. the french sent these guys to indochina where they absolutly owned the viet minh, the "devils legion" as they were called were masters of terror tactics, reprisals, and physcological warfare. they were so sucessful at rooting out viet minh guerillas and quelling their uprisings that when un seeked to get a cease fire in indo china the viet minh would only agree to the cease fire if the devils legion was sent out of indo china, reluctantly the french agreed to withdraw them and the unit was soon disbandedand. almost as soon as the devils legion left the country the viet minh started uprising again and a few months later the french were anihilated at diem bin fu. the book cost about 150 bucks on ebay my former english teacher and cross country coach an ex army ranger officer had a copy of the book because when it was first published in 198o the book circulated widly through the special forces community because of the effective counter insurgency methods described in the book. the book got the attention of the politicly correct civilian brass however and they were woried that this book advocated a style of warfare that wasn't "politicly correct" and the book was taken out of print and all copies were pulled from book stores. you can only find copies online now, and maybe in some obscure used book store, maybe.
