Having a life pretty much prevents you from staying up late playing games all night, not to mention that working in the IT field does not make you want to sit in front of a computer after a long day.

But when I was younger, I used to play games like the original Resident Evil until the sun came up or even back in the Nintendo days with games like Ninja Gaiden or Double Dragon. My hands would be so cramped after using that square controller all night, kind of like the Chandler syndrome from playing too much Ms. Pacman. Ahh the Nintendo years, good times.
