Is there a way to make a map list cfg file that is read by the game, WITHOUT having to use the actual in game GUI?

Example: I'd like to make a list of several maps in a text editor, then just drag and drop the one I want to play into the proper folder. This would save me a lot of time rather than scrolling thru the 200 maps I have. However I'm not sure where MOHAA reads the map list from. and what it should be called?

Addtionally, is there a way to setup a password without using a dedicated server?
