I didn't read this whole thing, but I did want to comment.

What I saw from the video was peoples emotions taking over.

We see one guy push a cop, then the cop goes chasing after him as to enact some sort of "revenge". That really isn't the right word, but I think you understand what I mean. The cops are there to keep order.

The cops whould move as one unit to keep the peace, it shouldn't be this one on one stuff where you disrespected me, so i'm gonna club you.

Everyone in the US and in Civilized countries turn to their charter where it states free speech. People are allowed to covene and organize non violent rallies. The police should not be there to confront or shut down such rallies, however they should be there to keep the peace. But basically when you put hot headded cops and hot headded protesters staring down cops on the front lines, you inevitably get a confrontation.

I'm sure many of those people protesting, like anarchists and such, believe they live in a police state, so confronting the police is exactly what their out there to do. But the police also have a responsibility to their citizens to keep control. Police and protesters shouldn't be fighting each other because one guys is a cop and one is a protester.
