well, 4 years in jail for him and not-determined-yet for her, might do the trick.

It's scary when every account of the events tell that "everybody did nothing". I bet part of it was the fear of being hit as well, and maybe another part was not being involved for fear of be included in the following lawsuit.

What if somebody had interviened? Maybe a friend? And he had hitting him back, maybe breaking his nose? It is possible that the lawsuit would have been the other way rolleyes:

Lot to think, maybe to carry a non-lethal weapon (shock or similar) was the solution?
