First of all, don't lie. Secondly, make sure that you are current with all your obligations. If you're missing payments that are in your name, that will show up on your credit report. Also, realize that the more that you apply for credit, loans, etc. that can hurt your overall credit score. Each time that your credit report is pulled from one of the 3 major companies in charge of that shit, it counts against you. That is of course you all applications are made within a close period of time for the same thing; mortgage or car loan for example.
Sounds like you should stay away from a credit card. If you don't have the coin to pay for stuff outright, it'll just get you in trouble.
If you really need one for the convenience of ordering shit and that kind of thing, your best bet is to call one of these companies and see what they can do for you. Its to easy to just deny your application.
