I've had my card for 2 years and I have a 1300 limit. I doubt if you get a card now you'd have a high enough limit to buy a car with. I've bought 2 cars in my lifetime without a credit card.
And why would you put a car on a card anyway? you can't really pay it all off at the same time, then you'd be paying interest on it. doesn't make sense...or am i missing something?

If you're getting a card to build a credit history, then good for you go for it. Just don't be a dumbass and make the minimum payment. You'll be asshole deep in debt before you know it. You'll see, as soon as you get one card and you at least make a minimum payment, you'll get solitiations from every financial institution under the sun. They don't like guys like myself or ninty9, because we're using them for a 30 day interest free loan. Guys who don't pay their balances are who they want
The car deal; most dealerships will not let you put any portion of a car on a credit card. I wouldn't even entertain that thought.
