I think it's a 390 we are putting in the Barracuda ('66)
You sure it's not a 318, 360, or 383? Those are mopar engines.
A '66 Cuda could have a 225ci Slant 6 or a 273ci V8 from the factory. The engine bay size was increased in '67 to accept the "B" family of big blocks.[/quote:9bb30]

Jin roh = lie.

I can list every single engine dodge offered v-8 wise in 66, and a 390 was not one of them.

* = Hemi ** = Std. Comp. Ratio 10.2:1

Type _ CID _ BORExSTROKE _ BHP @ RPM _ TORQUE @ RPM

ohv V-8 _ 273 _ 3.63x3.31 _ 235 @ 5200 _ 280 @ 4000
ohv V-8 _ 361 _ 4.12x3.88 _ 265 @ 4400 _ 380 @ 2400
ohv V-8 _ 383 _ 4.25x3.75 _ 270 @ 4400 _ 390 @ 2800
ohv V-8 _ 383 _ 4.25x3.75 _ 325 @ 4800 _ 425 @ 2800
ohv V-8 _426* _ 4.25x3.75 _ 425 @ 5000 _ 490 @ 4000
ohv V-8 _ 440 _ 4.32x3.75 _ 350 @ 4400 _ 480 @ 2800

continued from above.....

FUEL SYSTEM COMP RATIO

1 x 4bbl. 10.5:1
1 x 4bbl. 9.0:1
1 x 4bbl. 9.2:1
1 x 4bbl. 10.0:1
2 x 4bbl. 10.25:1**
1 x 4bbl. 10.1:1

These were all the car engines dodge offered in a v8 form that year for sale.I have no clue where you pulled that 390 from, hell Dodge/MOopar never even made a 390cu. size wise.

If I ever had to choose a "performance car" form the muscle era, it would be one of Ford's one time offered 67 sohc v-8 427 the beast pumped out 616 BHP @ 7000 Rpm..... + 515 pds of torque. I beleive they "were" offered to specialty oders, but almost all of them were used for racing. (NASCAR) etc.
