I dunno, American Dad to me is more "inside-jokish", though you dont truly have to be on the "inside" to understand the joke, just keep up with the papers and news (like the Whitney Houston scene last night..haha, I choked on that). I saw no randomness at all, all the jokes had to do with what was going on.
When I mean randomness, I mean, well, like what I just said...a chicken pops out of absolutely nowhere and starts beating the dad up (Family Guy last night). I dunno, I just find those things lame, I like well-thought-out plot-lines (like the early Simpsons..I loved the transitions from one plot to another every episode).[/quote:4587e]
The chicken scene happened for a reason, he gave him an expired coupon. If you would have saw that episode you would have got the joke.
