An artificial shrink in demand will not affect prices. You won't fool analysts with OPEC or Oil companies by not buying gas for a week. Instead, demand would be so great at the conclusion of that week that prices would likely rise for a time.

Forbes claims the demand is speculative and inflated. Good news.


What would really help our country (and my city, Detroit, in particular) would be if one of the automakers finds a renewable, low-cost alternative energy source that we can make cars run on.
